Banyule Arty Farty Fest 2019

Melbourne’s festival season is in full swing at the moment. The weather is not too hot and not too cold, making it perfect for festivals. One of the great kids and family friendly festivals happening on March 17th is the Banyule Arty Farty Fest. Yes, it is as fun and interesting as the name suggests, a great day out for the whole family. Starting with a grand parade down Heidelberg’s Burgundy St at 10am. The parade will showcase plenty of colour and creativity. Many local schools, sporting groups and other community groups from all over Banyule will march in the parade showing off the incredible diversity that the Banyule shire has to offer. The parade concludes at 11am at Sills Bend, Warringal Parklands. The conclusion of the parade marks the start of a fun filled day at Warringal Parklands for kids of all ages to enjoy. Kids will have the opportunity to participate and explore various activities. There will be many art based activities and performances throughout the day and most of them are interactive giving kids the opportunity to really get involved in such a fun and imaginative day. Children can even have the opportunity to do some face painting and create one of a kind artworks on their parents, friends or siblings. You may even like to design your own decorative flag. Flags will be collected and sewn together to create a great big flag that represents the diversity of the community. There will also be plenty of musical performances throughout the day The festival is dedicated to kids with the fun and entertainment continuing until 4pm. With so much happening throughout the day there is a reason this festival is one of the best children’s festivals in Victoria.
