Queens Birthday Long Weekend

Winter has arrived in Melbourne this week, which means the chilly weather is here. The colder weather doesn’t always have to mean we are stuck indoors. There is still plenty to do, we just need to rug up a bit. This weekend brings the Queen’s birthday long weekend. A much-needed extra days break for many. The long weekend is a perfect time to get out in the yard and do a big clean up. After Autumn you will probably find there are a heap of leaves on the ground, meaning a clean up is needed. Skip Hire Melbourne can offer a cheap skip bin for garden waste over this long weekend. We will be delivering skip bins up until Saturday this week, ensuring you get the skip you require for you long weekend clean up. If getting out of the house is something you prefer, there is plenty happening in and around Melbourne. The Steam Gala 2019 at Diamond Valley miniature railway in Eltham. A fun day out for the whole family, especially kids. There are picnic facilities so you can relax as well as miniature train rides running throughout Sunday and Monday. Federation Square in Melbourne has turned its roof top into a Winter Village, where you can ice skate, relax and have something to drink and eat in the one of the private igloos. Or you can head to the main igloo which has snow every hour. The Collingwood Children’s Farm is another great day out for the family. Pack a picnic and wander around the farm and see all the animals. A good tip at the farm during winter is to bring your gum boots, it can get a little muddy. A big one for Monday’s public holiday is the AFL at the MCG. Collingwood take on Melbourne which should be a great game as well as a great day out with the Big Freeze happening at the MCG also. The Big Freeze is a great fundraiser for research to find a cure for MND. Whether you choose to stay close to home or head out make sure you stay warm and have fun this long weekend and enjoy the extra days break as this is the last long weekend until September.
